Imagine a modern Pompeii, a time bomb bigger than 1, 000 Hiroshima bombs, or a disaster zone 10 million times the size of Ground Zero. Sounds impossible, but is it? Hidden below America’s most famous National Park is a supervolcano.

Based on the fact that mountain pass Åkneset, located in the Geiranger fjord in Norway, will one day collapse and create a violent tsunami of over 80 meters that will crush everything in its path before it hits land in Greenland. A geologist gets caught in the middle of it and a race against time begins.

Dr. Conway has perfected a machine which he believes will predict earthquakes, and has determined that one will strike California within 24 hours. He and his patron, Dr. Morton, attempt to convince the Governor but he cannot bring himself to declare an emergency when there is no proof the machine works – which, within 24 hours, it is proven to do. It does, when they inadvertently discover a new element which lies dormant in watery pools deep within the earth but, when in contact with air, becomes violently explosive. Forces unknown appear to be pushing this element surface-ward around the globe, and a computer analysis determines that enough will be exposed to explode the entire world within a little more than 28 days…

When her father finds out that she’s back on the same island, he heads straight there to get her off the island and save her. As fate will have it, after not convincing Meng to leave, there’s an eruption far more destructive than the previous. He and Meng help in getting some of the 50000 off the island. It’s a constant race against the volcano.

A young woman breaks out of rehab and hot wires a car so she can visit her sick mother, gets stuck with a group of people at a mountain rest stop during a blizzard. Things take a turn for the worse when the young woman discovers a kidnapped child in a car belonging to one of the people inside, putting the group in a terrifying life-or-death situation as they struggle to escape while trying to discover who among them is the kidnapper.
